Nonprofit Organization, Historic Military Plane Restoration & Museum

Project Main Thumb

Project Description:

This was a first fundraiser of this type for Commemorative Air Force – Lake Superior Sqadron 101 (CAF-LSS101), including a lunch and dinner benefit, with live entertainment. Those ticket sales along with historical WWII plane rides and museum tours made for a successful event. PBY Catalina restoration major sponsors received certificates designed by MMD.

Special guest appearances from long-standing local celebrities were coordinated, including former KBJR Evening News Anchor Michelle Lee (dressed as WWII cultural icon, Rosie the Riveter) and WDSM’s “Sound Off” Host, Brad Bennett.

An interesting part of this project was the opportunity to train CAF-LSS officers and members how to plan and initiate similar events into the future. MMD’s Carolyn Dahlen served as co-chair to the event.
